Aaron Parker
Parker only played in 3 games but played well. He went 4-12 with a homerun, double, and a walk. The concern was that he had 6 strikeouts (two in each game). He performed well, but the strikeouts are something to watch.
Adrian Santana
Santana has been very good defensively at short while also impressing at the plate. He looked good again at the plate this week, going 5-23 with a homerun, 2 doubles, and a walk. He did strikeout five times, but this was not a huge concern.
Aidan Miller
Miller is still not doing baseball activities and was shut down after starting to take some ground balls and doing some rotational activities. Back injuries are tough and the hope is that there is real improvement soon. No real timetable on his return unfortunately.
Aidan Smith
Smith is still on the injured list and there is no timetable on his return. Hopefully this is just a short-term absence, but he has already missed more than a week.
Alex Clemmey
Clemmey had a better performance this week in his start but still struggled with command. He pitched 3.1 innings and allowed 4 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), but walked 5 and hit a batter. He did strikeout five hitters which helped limit the damage, but it was still a rough game.
Alexander Albertus
Albertus has played 4 games in the complex league as he continues to rehab. He has been very good, going 4-13 with a triple, 2 doubles, 3 walks, and only 3 strikeouts. He seems to be done playing in the middle infield, but has played both corner spots and looked solid overall. Probably a good idea to move him out of the middle with his injury history.
Arjun Nimmala
After a promotion, Nimmala looked good in his first taste of double A. He went 8-21 with a double and a walk. The concern is that he struck out six times. He is new to the level and this should improve as he adjusts to the level.
Bairon Ledesma
Still no game action for Ledesma. He should see the field soon though.
Ben Hess
Still no update on Hess’ injury but hopefully he returns soon. The former first round pick was poised for a big year, but he has only made one start so far.
Bernard Moon
Moon had some good games this week but also struggled with some strikeout issues. Overall, he went 6-22 with 3 doubles, and a walk. He also struck out six times. Three multi-hit games, but also two multi-strikeout games.
Billy Amick
Amick had a huge week where he reached base safely in four of five games, and has two three-hit games. He also had a multi-homerun game and a game with two walks. Overall, he went 6-20 with 3 homeruns, a double, and 2 walks. He did have 6 strikeouts, but this was not a huge issue.
Blake Burke
Burke struck out a little more than he hoped this week but had a huge week power wise. He went 6-21 with 3 homeruns, and a walk. 4 strikeouts is really not a huge problem.
Blake Wright
Wright is still on the injured list. No update, but he has been out an extended time despite the early 7-day designation.
Boston Bateman
Bateman had another really solid start and looks to have potentially found some consistency. He pitched 5 innings and struck out four and only 1 earned run. He did get hit kind of hard though, allowing 7 hits while also walking two. His defense hurt him as 3 unearned runs scored and caused an exit after 5 innings. Some positives, but also some things to work on.
Braden Montgomery
Montgomery had a great first week in triple A. He went 7-24 with 2 doubles and a walk. The concern is that he had 8 strikeouts, but this was his first week at the level and he will adjust.
Braylon Payne
Payne had another tough week and struck out a lot. He went 3-23 with a double, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts. The strikeout number is a real concern, and this will need to improve.
Brody Hopkins
Hopkins made two starts this week and had mixed results. Overall, he allowed no runs in 8 innings. Giving up only 5 hits while striking out 10 batters. The concern is that he walked six over that span and his struggles with command are still obvious. Improvement, but still a long way to go.
Brooks Brannon
Brannon had a huge bounce back week and looks fully healthy from his surgery. He went 9-15 with 3 homeruns, a triple, 2 doubles, and only 2 strikeouts. A truly incredible performance after a rough week before.
Bryce Cunningham
Cunningham made his second appearance of this season last week and looked good. He came in out of the bullpen and pitched 3.1 scoreless innings. He did allow 2 hits and walked two batters, but overall looked good. He will continue to improve as he stretches out after his season started late due to injury.
Bryce Rainer
Rainer had his best week of the season and looked much better at the plate. He went 5-18 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 8 walks. Strikeouts were still a little bit of an issue as he had eight, but this was an improvement.
Cam Caminiti
Caminiti had a really tough game this week and got hit hard. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 6 hits 7 runs (4 earned), 2 homerun, and 2 walks. A tough game for the young lefty, but he should bounce back.
Carson DeMartini
DeMartini is currently injured and on the 7-day injured list. No update yet, but hopefully this is a short absence.
Carter Johnson
Johnson had a better week and cut his strikeouts, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. He went 4-15 with 9 walks and only 4 strikeouts. His approach was much better and resulted in him getting on base a ton.
Carter Mathison
Mathison is still struggling and went hitless in two of his four games played. He went 2-15 with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Too much swing and miss. This really hurt his performance.
Casey Cook
Cook is still out and on the 60-day injured list. No updates on his progress currently, but hopefully there is news soon.
Charlee Soto
Soto has not yet made his season debut, but he should be back soon. The expectation was sometime in May, so we should see him shortly.
Chase Harlan
Harlan had an incredible week at the plate and really stood out. He went 8-19 with 3 doubles, 5 walks, and only 3 strikeouts. A really impressive week for the young third baseman.
Chris Cortez
Cortez was promoted to double A and has been coming out of the bullpen. While the hope was that he would be a starter, he has been way too inconsistent in that role. After struggling to throw strikes as a starter, he has looked much better out of the pen. In two appearances this week, he retired all six batters in double A. No strikeouts, but also no hits allowed is promising. The biggest green flag is that he has not walked anybody yet. After 26 walks in his first 17.1 innings, we will definitely take none in his last two.
Cobb Hightower
Hightower is still out, but the hope is that he returns soon.
Cole Fontenelle
Fontenelle returned to action this week and had two brutal games. He went 0-8 with 6 strikeouts. This is really bad but after an extended absence, hopefully it is just rust.
Cole Carrigg
Carrigg had another big week and is riding a 18-game hitting streak. In five games, he had multiple hits in three of them. Overall, he went 8-25 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 5 strikeouts. He also walked twice while only striking out 5 times. A really solid week that has put him right at the door for a call up.
Cole Mathis
Mathis continues to hit and had another strong week. He hit in four of six games, and reached base safely in five of the games he played. Overall, he went 5-20 with a homerun, 2 doubles, and 4 walks. He did strikeout six times, which is a little concerning, but it was better than last week.
Cole Messina
Messina had a good week and played much better than last week. He went 4-15 with a walk. He only struck out three times as well and this is a great sign as he struggled with them early. He made a lot more contact and the results showed.
Colt Emerson
Emerson had a solid week, but strikeouts are still a little concerning. He went 10-28 with 2 homeruns and a walk. 7 strikeouts is an improvement though and steps in the right direction.
Cooper Pratt
The strikeout issue returned unfortunately this week. Pratt went 3-24 with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Rough week offensively, but he continues to shine defensively.
Colin Houck
Houck had a big week, but strikeouts were still a problem. He hit his first two homeruns of the season and went 6-24 with 10 strikeouts. This is a real concern still, but the power was great to see.
Dillon Head
Head returned from injury and played in three games this week. He went 2-11 with a double, and 3 strikeouts. He has really struggled this year, but the sample size is small (31 at bats). He should hopefully get going soon.
Dylan Dreiling
Dreiling had a huge week and really stood out. He went 7-19 with 4 homeruns, 6 walks, and only 1 strikeout. A really solid week that he hopes to carry into next week.
Echedry Vargas
Vargas has not appeared in any games this week, but there is no injury designation or news on why.
Eddie Rynders
Rynders had a much better week after an awful start to the season. He recorded a hit in all three games, and went 3-10 with a homerun, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Steps in the right direction after being almost unplayable all season.
Eduardo Quintero
Quintero extended his on base streak to 13 games and is really starting to put it all together. He went 5-17 with 3 doubles, 2 walks, and only 2 strikeouts. After a slow start, Quintero has looked much better.
Eduardo Tait
Tait continues to look good at the plate and had another solid week. He recorded a hit in four of six games and went 5-24 with 2 doubles and only 5 strikeouts. Solid week, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
Ethan Anderson
Anderson had a huge week showing both power and a great eye. He went 7-19 with 3 homeruns, 3 walks, and only 3 strikeouts. A really good week for the young catcher who has posted great numbers early.
Engelth Urena
Urena continues to improve and had a solid week. He went 4-17 with his first homerun of the year, 2 doubles, and 3 walks. Strikeouts were a problem, as he has four, but this was better than last week.
Fenwick Trimble
Trimble had another solid week, but strikeouts were a problem. He went 5-20 with 2 doubles, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. A step in the wrong direction from last week, but there were still positives to carry into next week.
Franklin Arias
Arias had another really good week and continues to shine. He went 6-15 with 2 doubles, 3 walks, and only 2 strikeouts. He has been so good this season, and a promotion could come soon.
George Wolkow
Wolkow had a brutal week and went hitless. Strikeouts were frequent and he had 10 in 18 at bats. Nightmare week for the young slugger who only reached base safely once on a walk.
Hyun-Seok Jang
Jang had his worst start of the season, but he had been so solid overall, that it really was not that bad. He pitched 4.1 and allowed 5 hits, 4 walks, and 3 runs (2 earned). He struggled with his command, but did a good job limiting the damage.
Ivan Luciano
Luciano had another strong week and really limited his strikeouts. He went 4-17 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He only struck out twice and looked really good at the plate.
Jack Penney
Penney is still out for a while. No updates as he is still on the 60-day injured list.
Jackson Ferris
Ferris got injured in his last start but did have better command before exiting. He pitched 3 innings and walked none. The problem is he got hit hard again and allowed 5 hits and a homerun. He limited the damage to only 2 runs though which is solid.
Jacob Cozart
Cozart only played in four games this week but looked good. He went 5-13 with 2 doubles, 5 walks, and 5 strikeouts. He really needed a bounce back week and found success.
Jaison Chourio
Chourio was called up but got hurt two games into his double A stint. He went 0-6 with a walk and a strikeout. Currently he is hurt but hopes to be back soon.
Jared Serna
Serna only played in three games this week but reached base safely in two of them. Overall, he went 2-9 with a double, walk and only 1 strikeout. Limited playing time, but solid results.
Jared Sundstrom
Sundstrom had a solid week but is still struggling with strikeouts. He went 4-19 with a homerun, double, and a walk. He did strikeout seven times though and continues to swing and miss a ton.
Jared Thomas
Thomas is still on the injured list and there are no updates on him yet. Hopefully he will return soon.
Jay Beshears
Tough week for Beshears, but he only played in four games, so the sample size was not huge. He went 1-12 with a double, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Really rough week, but hopefully he bounces back next week.
JD Dix
Dix had a huge week and really needed it after struggling early. He went 9-20 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 6 walks. He only struck out three times which is a huge step in the right direction. Dix also stole five bases and showed that he can be an impact player.
Jeral Perez
Perez had a better week than last week, but strikeouts were still a huge factor. He reached base safely in all four games and went 3-12 with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. After an 0-20 week, this was a big improvement.
Jeremy Rodriguez
Rodriguez has begun his rehab in rookie ball and has looked like the player he was early on in his career. While the strikeouts are up, he is still walking a ton. In five games, he went 4-18 with a homerun and 4 walks. 6 strikeouts is a concern, but he is returning from an extended absence. He has already tied his homerun total from last year (420 at bats) in 18, so a good sign.
Jesus Made
Made had a better week, but really struggled with strikeouts. He hit in three straight and went 5-21 with a walk. 5 strikeouts and four straight games with one is really out of character for him though.
Joe Vetrano
Vetrano had another solid week and recorded a hit in four of five games. He went 4-19 with a homerun and a double. Strikeouts were a problem though, as he had eight. This will have to improve, as he hits the ball hard when he isn’t swinging and missing.
Joendry Vargas
Vargas had a solid week and continued to limit his strikeouts. He went 5-27 with 2 triples and only 4 strikeouts. If he continues to limit his strikeouts, his number should definitely improve.
John Spikerman
After a great week last week, Spikerman struggled this week. He went 3-21 with a double, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts. The walks are good, but he struggled outside of that. Rough week, but he should bounce back.
Jonathon Long
Long had another strong week but struggled with some strikeouts. He went 8-20 with 2 doubles, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Solid week, but he is really missing his power swing from last year. He has not hit a homerun in 18 games, which is really out of character.
Jonny Farmelo
Farmelo had a huge week and limited his strikeouts for the most part. He went 7-19 with a triple, double, and 4 walks. He struck out twice in his first four games, and ended his week with an 0-4 with 4 strikeout game. Rough ending for a solid week.
Joshua Kuroda-Grauer
Grauer had another impressive week and ended it with a call up to triple A. He hit in all six games, and went 8-26 with a homerun, 3 doubles, and a walk. He struck out four times, but this is not a concern. Defensively, he is great and with a hot start in triple A, his time there could be short.
Joshue De Paula
It was a struggle this week, but De Paula did put the ball in play a lot. He went 3-20 with a homerun, double, and 2 walks. He struck out four times, but this did not really cause his struggles.
Juan Baez
The struggles continue for Baez who had another tough week. He went 2-15 with a walk. He struck out seven times in what was a forgettable week.
Juan Flores
Flores had another tough week and struggled with strikeouts late. In four games, he went 2-15 with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Rough week, but still some positives.
Kash Mayfield
Mayfield had a great outing this week and dominated. He pitched 5 shutout innings and only walked one and allowed only 1 hit. He only struck out 3 batters, but he was still very good.
Kavares Tears
Tears had a better week and for the most part, he made more contact. He went 4-14 with a double. He struck out four times, which is an improvement from last week. Growth for a struggling hitter who hopes to have finally figured it out.
Kelvin Hidalgo
Hidalgo had a solid week, but strikeouts are still an issue. He went 4-18 with a triple and 2 doubles. 7 strikeouts is a real concern though. Too many and it really is hurting his numbers.
Khadim Diaw
Diaw had a tough week, but still hit in three of five games. Overall, he went 3-20 with a double and 2 walks. 5 strikeouts is not the best, but they all came in a two game span. Rough week, but there were still positives to carry into next week.
Kyle DeBarge
DeBarge struggles continue and he has had an ugly season so far at the plate. He did hit 2 homeruns this week which is a great sign though. Overall, he went 4-20 this week and walked five times and stole four bases. Strikeouts are still a problem as he had five this week. Improvement, but still a problem.
Kyle Henley
Henley had some really good games this week and cut his strikeouts down after struggling with them in the4 first two games. He recorded a hit in four of five games and went 6-22 with a triple, double, and a walk. 5 strikeouts overall, but four of them came in the first two games.
Leo De Vries
De Vries started the week hot but struggled late. He went 4-22 with a double. He only struck out four times, which is a positive. After a very hot start, he has cooled off a bit, but the talent is obvious.
Lisbel Diaz
Diaz had a much better week and cut down his strikeouts. He went 4-15 with a homerun, walk, and 4 strikeouts. His did not strikeout in his last two games, so hopefully he can extend this streak into next week.
Luis Almeyda
Almeyda is still on the injured list. Still no update, but hopefully he is back soon.
Luis Baez
Baez had a much-needed solid week and looked much better. He went 5-17 with 2 doubles, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. His power from two years ago is still missing, but he showed some life this week.
Luke Adams
Adams is still on the injured list and there has not been an update on his progress yet.
Max Clark
Clark had a much better week, and cut his strikeouts down. He went 5-21 with a double, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Still a lot of room for improvement, but it was a step in the right direction.
Marvin Alcantara
Alcantara’s struggles continued this week, and it has been rough to watch. He went 3-16 with a homerun, double, and a walk. The ugly part of his performance was 8 strikeouts. He had a game where he went 0-5 with 5 strikeouts and this really has been how his season has gone so far.
Nate Nankil
It was a tough week for Nankil who has struggled and battled injuries early on. He went 2-16 with 3 strikeouts. He did walk twice but did not make much solid contact.
Nathan Flewelling
Flewelling continues to shine and has been impressive at the plate. For the week, he went 5-19 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He did strikeout five times, but this was not a huge issue overall.
Nick McLain
McLain is still working with the ACL White Sox as he returns to the field. Hopefully this goes well so he can return to full season ball once he is removed from the 60-day injured list.
Nick Mitchell
Mitchell is still struggling, and is striking out a little too much. He went 3-17 with 7 strikeouts. The strikeouts are really limiting his ability to contribute.
Nick Morabito
A week full of mixed results for Morabito, but he still flashed. He hit in the first four games, before struggling in the last two. Overall, he went 5-21 with 7 strikeouts and only 2 walks. He also stole three bases which is impressive. A lot of positives, but the strikeout numbers are a slight concern. He only had 20 in his first month (80 at bats), so 7 in 21 at bats is unusual.
PJ Morlando
Morlando had another rough week, but did improve his approach at the plate and cut his strikeouts down. He went 2-15 with a double, 6 walks and only 3 strikeouts. This is a step in the right direction, but he will need to start making better contact to go with the walks.
Ramon Ramirez
Ramirez was incredible this week and really stood out. He went 9-24 with 3 homeruns, a triple, and 2 walks. While he did strikeout seven times, it really did not hurt his numbers. He has homered in three of his last four games and continues to be a force at the place.
Rikuu Nishida
Nishida continues to impress, but had an issue with strikeouts this week. He is one of the best contact bats in the minors, so it was very out of character. Overall, he went 6-23 with a triple, double, and 3 walks. 7 strikeouts is just not something that typically happens, but he will bounce back.
Robert Calaz
Calaz had a better week, but strikeouts are really hurting him. He went 4-16 with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Not the worst week, but plenty of room for improvement.
Romeo Sanabria
Sanabria had a much-needed bounce back week and went 5-20 with a double, 3 walks, and only 1 strikeout. After a brutal start to the season, he will hope to carry this momentum into next week.
Ryan Campos
Campos continues to hit at the plate and had another really strong week. He went 7-15 with 2 homeruns, a double, 4 walks, and only 3 strikeouts. If he can continue to perform like this, a call up can definitely happen.
Ryan Sloan
Sloan had his best start of the year, and his command was great. He pitched 5 innings and allowed only 3 hits and 2 runs (1 earned), while walking none and striking out six. A strong start that he hopes to build off of.
Sean Keys
Keys had another solid week, but strikeouts were a problem. He hit in all five games and went 5-17 with a homerun and 4 walks. He had 6 strikeouts though which is unusual. Defensively, he has been very solid which is a good sign for him.
Seaver King
King extended his on base streak to 29 games, and his hitting streak up to eight games. For the week, he went 6-15 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk. He only struck out twice and continues to excel offensively.
Sebastian Walcott
Walcott is still on the 60-day. No updates on his progress, and there likely will not be for a while.
Sheng-En Lin
Lin got hit hard in his last start but a positive is that his command was still solid. He did walk one batter and hit another while allowing 5 hits and 5 runs (4 earned) in 4 innings. 5 strikeouts is another positive, so it was not all negative at least.
Slade Caldwell
Caldwell is still struggling offensively, but he did show some flashes this week. He went 4-17 with a double and 9 walks. The problem is that he struck out nine times and this is what is really hurting him.
Spencer Nivens
Nivens had a really solid week and looks healthy in his second week back from injury. He went 4-18 with a homerun, 4 walks, and only 3 strikeouts. A solid week that he will look to build off of.
Tai Peete
Peete had another solid week, but strikeouts are still a problem. He went 5-21 with a homerun, 2 doubled, and 3 walks. The negative, is that he struck out eight times and this is what is holding him back.
Thayron Liranzo
Liranzo had a solid week, but strikeouts were a problem. He went 4-22 with a homerun, double, and 2 walks. 8 strikeouts were what really hurt him this week and he will need to improve on this.
Theo Gillen
Gillen had a strong bounce back week and impressed. He went 5-17 with a homerun and 5 walks. Strikeouts were still a concern, as he had six times, but overall, he was good.
Travis Honeyman
Honeyman had another impressive week at the plate and consistently put the ball in play. He went 6-15 with a homerun, double, 5 walks, and only 2 strikeouts. He also stole three bases and proved to be an impact player that can change games.
Ty Southisene
Southisene continues to shine in high A after an impressive debut to end last week. He went 6-22 with a triple, double, 5 walks, and only 1 strikeout. An impressive week and the decision to promote him looks to have been a good one.
Tyson Lewis
Lewis had another strong week reaching base in all four games. He went 7 19 with a homerun, double, and 4 walks. He did strikeout eight times though, and this is a real concern.
Walker Jenkins
Jenkins got hurt last week crashing into the wall to make a catch. He is on the injured list still and there is no update just yet.
Yeremi Cabrera
Cabrera had another impressive week, and his time in high A may end soon. He went 10-20 with a homerun, 2 doubles, 8 walks, and 4 stolen bases. 5 strikeouts is a little rough, but it really did not hurt his numbers and was better than last week.
Yoelin Cespedes
Cespedes had another strong week, but strikeouts were a problem. He went 9-24 with a homerun. He did not walk, and struck out seven times. This is a concern, but he did still put the ball in play a lot.
Yoffry Solano
Solano had a tough week, going hitless in four of his five games. Overall, he went 1-14 with a double, 2 walks, and4 strikeouts. He put the ball in play a lot, but did not produce much solid contact.
Yohandy Morales
Morales continues to stand out and had another strong week. He went 7-20 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 4 walks. He struck out five times, but this really did not hurt his numbers.
Yolfran Castillo
Castillo continues to impress at the plate and reached base safely in all five games this week. He went 8-20 with a double, walk and 8 strikeouts. The strikeouts are a real concern, but he still had as good week.
Zander Mueth
Mueth continued to struggle and also got injured in his last start. He was removed before completing an inning, and only got two outs. He also allowed 2 hits and 3 walks in that span where 4 runs (3 earned) scored. It has been a brutal start to the season for Mueth. Allowing a lot of hard contact and struggling with command.
Zyhir Hope
Hope had another really good week, reaching base safely in all six games, and recorded a hit in four of them. He went 5-20 with 3 homeruns, a triple, and 4 walks. He struck out six times, but this was not a huge issue. Hope has homered in three straight games to end the week and is on a real hot streak.
MLB
Agustin Ramirez
Ramirez had a solid week, but he is still looking to find his power swing. He went 3-11 with a double, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. He would definitely like to work on that last number, but it was not that bad.
Brice Matthews
Matthews had a rough week after looking to have finally figured it out last week. He is seeing the field more after Correa’s injury but struggled again this week. He went hitless in three of his five games players. Overall, he went 3-18 with a homerun, 6 strikeouts, and no walks. His approach is not great and it is hurting his ability to get on base.
Bryce Eldridge
Eldridge continues to struggle and his swing and miss issue was a problem. He went 2-12 with a walk and 4 strikeouts for the week. Tough luck but hopefully he figures it out soon.
Caleb Durbin
Durbin continues to struggle but did have a quick 3-game hitting streak. Overall, he went 4-18 with a double and only 3 strikeouts. Probably was his best week of the season so far. It has been that bad overall.
Cam Smith
It was another really rough week for smith at the plate unfortunately. He went 1-19 with 5 strikeouts. A positive to take was that he walked four times and stole a base. It has been tough for Smith lately and he has not been good.
Carson Benge
Benge continues to look better both at the plate and defensively as he adjusts to the majors. For the week, he went 5-17 with a double and a walk. He did strikeout more this week than last though, as he had five this week. A little step back in that area, but not the worst.
Carson Williams
Williams’ struggles from the end of last week carried into this week. He went 1-18 with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts. The swing and miss issue this week really hurt and is a real problem.
Christian Moore
Moore was activated off the injured list on 5/10/26 but has not returned to the lineup just yet. He should be back soon though.
Colson Montgomery
Montgomery had a solid week, but the strikeout issue flashed after improving last week. He went 4-21 with a homerun and a walk. The negative stat for him will definitely be the 7 strikeouts and three games with more than one out of five played. A step back, but he showed he was capable of cutting the number down in previous weeks.
Dalton Rushing
Rushing did not have a great week but only started three games. He went 2-13 with 3 strikeouts. Tough week, but his overall numbers are still very good.
Jac Caglianone
Cagalianone is currently riding a four-game hitting streak to end the week and performed well. He went 4-21 with only 3 strikeouts. He has really improved his ability to put the ball in play, and his strikeout numbers were much better this week.
Jonah Tong
Tong had another solid start this week and has two positive appearances in a row for the first time all season. There is still some concern with his command as he walked four, but he limited those and 2 hits to only 2 runs in five innings while striking out eight. Unlike previous starts, he was able to escape trouble and go deeper into the game. He has struggled to keep the ball in the park this year and one of those two hits was a homerun. A lot of positives, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Jose Fernandez
Fernandez has come down to earth since his red-hot start. This week was a struggle, going 1-10 with 6 strikeouts. Despite the lack of them early on in his MLB career, strikeouts always were a concern for him, and they started to really show frequently. His playing time has decreased, and this could play into the struggles.
Kevin McGonigle
McGonigle had his first tough week at the plate but still walked a lot and kept his strikeout numbers down. He went 2-17 with 4 walks and only 2 strikeouts. A tough week, but there were still positives to take from it.
Kristian Campbell
Campbell flashed this week after returning from illness but struck out a lot. Overall, he went 5-20 with a homerun, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. The concern was he struck out 10 times. Half of his at bats were automatic outs and this is really brutal. After only 27 in his first 85 at bats, this really came out of nowhere.
Kyle Teel
Teel is set to begin his rehab assignment this upcoming week and hopes to be back with the big-league club very soon. If all goes well, he should ramp up quick and be back in Chicago within a week.
Marcelo Mayer
After a good week for Mayer, the struggles returned this week. He went 1-14 with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Tough week, but he showed last week that he can produce and should bounce back again.
Matt Shaw
Shaw saw limited acting this week, so not much to write about. He only had six at bats overall, recording only one hit. No strikeouts, so that is a positive at least.
Nick Kurtz
Kurtz had a solid week and hit in five of six games. Overall, he went 8-24 with a triple, 2 doubles, and 4 walks. Only 4 strikeouts as well which is a big step in the right direction for him.
Roman Anthony
Anthony is still on the 10-day injured list and hopes to return soon. A wrist injury has taken him out of the lineup.
Sam Antonacci
Antonacci had another solid week and reached base safely in four of his five games played. Overall, he went 4-16 with 3 hits by pitches. He finds ways to get on base. Four strikeouts overall is not really a concern, but they all came in his last two games, so this is something to keep an eye on.
Samuel Basallo
Basallo had a really good week and he is currently riding a six-game hitting streak. For the week, he went 9-21 with a triple, double, and a walk. He only struck out four times which is about his average rate for the season.
Travis Bazzana
Bazzana had a much better week and reached base safely in five straight games. Overall, he went 4-18 with a homerun (first career homer), a double, and 6 walks. He only struck out three times and got hit by two pitches. Bazzana was on base a ton and has a .423 OBP so far through 28 at bats.
Trey Yesavage
Yesavage had another promising start but did not go deep as he continues to stretch out after a delayed season debut. He pitched 4 shutout innings allowing 4 hits and 2 walks. He did strikeout six, but the walks caused him to exit earlier than he had hoped.
