Aaron Parker
Parker had a solid week, but started and ended the week with tough games. He went 0-3 with a walk and 2 strikeouts in the first and 04-4 in the last. For the week, he went 4-18 with a homerun and 4 walks and only 3 strikeouts. Plenty of positives to take from the week and obvious improvement from last week.
Adrian Santana
Santana continues to shine defensively and has looked good at the plate as well. This week, he went 7-21 with a double, and a walk. He only struck out twice which is a huge green flag.
Aidan Miller
Still no update on Miller’s back injury that has kept him sidelined. No progress on even swinging yet and the hope is that this is not a career altering issue.
Aidan Smith
Smith is still on the injured list and there is no recent update on this.
Alex Clemmey
Clemmey had two starts this week and they could not have been anymore different. His first start was his best of the season. Going 6 innings allowing only 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out six batters. His command was sharp and he dominated. Unfortunately, his next start was a disaster. Only pitching 1.1 innings, allowing 4 hits, 4 walks and hitting 2 batters. He also gave u-p 10 runs (7 earned) and only struck out one batter. He is much better than that, but this was a glimpse at what happens when he is not sharp.
Alexander Albertus
Albertus is still in complex ball rehabbing from his injuries last year. He has not reinjured himself as of this time which is a big positive. After brutal injury luck, staying on the field is the key for this season.
Arjun Nimmala
Nimmala had another big week and finished it with a promotion to Double A. He went 3-16 with a homerun, double, and 5 walks. He only struck out four times and this was enough for the team to promote him.
Bairon Ledesma
Still not action for Ledesma as complex ball has not started officially yet. He will take the field soon though.
Ben Hess
Hess is still dealing with arm fatigue and there is no real update on his progress. Hopefully this is not a long-term absence as he looked good in the spring before being shut down.
Bernard Moon
Moon had a solid week, but still struggled with a lot of swing and miss. He went 8-28 with a homerun, 3 doubles, and 10 strikeouts. He only walked once which did not really make up for the strikeouts.
Billy Amick
Amick had another solid week and reached base in four of his five games played. He went 4-17 with 2 walks. He did strikeout five times, but this is about his average rate so not a huge concern.
Blake Burke
Burke had another strong week and reached base in five of six games played. Strikeouts were a bit of a problem, but he was solid overall. He went 4-22 with a homerun, double, and 2 walks. 7 strikeouts is a slight concern, but still plenty of positives to bring into next week.
Blake Wright
Wright is still out with an injury and there has been no update on his progress yet.
Boston Bateman
Bateman had his best outing of the year and really needed it. He went a season high 6 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits. His command was impressive, despite hitting a better, he did not walk any and struck out eight. He showed how dominant he can be when he throws strikes.
Braden Montgomery
Montgomery had another strong week and it earned him a promotion to triple A. He went 7-23 with 2 homeruns and 5 walks. He only struck out five times which is a huge improvement which helped the organization make the call.
Braylon Payne
Payne had a rough week after a great performance last week. He went 3-24 with 6 strikeouts. He only walked once and really struggled getting on base. He is too good to struggle like this for long though and will bounce back.
Brody Hopkins
Hopkins had a brutal start in his last appearance. Still struggling with command and all the walks finally came back to hurt him. He also got hit hard and allowed 5 hits, 5 walks, and hit a batter in 3.1 innings. Overall, he gave up 7 runs and only struck out four batters. A disaster for the talented pitcher who has struggled with the strike zone all year.
Brooks Brannon
Brannon struggled with strikeouts this week and it really hurt his performance. He went hitless in three of five games and went 3-15 with his first homerun of the season and a double. He walked four times, but also struck out seven times. Brannon is still getting his feet set after missing extended time early on.
Bryce Cunningham
Cunningham made his season debut this week and had some positives but also struggled with his command a bit. He pitched 3 innings, and allowed 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks. He also struck out three and this is a positive. The damage came from a homerun, but outside of that, he was solid. A good first appearance, but definitely far from what he is capable of.
Bryce Rainer
Rainer showed some flashes this week, but still really struggled with strikeouts. He hit in four of five games and went 5-18 with a triple, 2 doubles, and 3 walks. The concern is that he also struck out eight times. Hard to sustain success when you strikeout over 40% of the time.
Cam Caminiti
Caminiti had two starts this week and had mixed results. In his first game, he got hit really hard. In 5 innings, he allowed 7n hits, 2 walks, and 6 runs. A positive was that he did strikeout six. In his second start, he spread 4 hits and 2 walks across 5 shoutout innings while striking out five. Mixed results for the 19-year-old lefty, but he has flashed dominance early in his career.
Carson DeMartini
DeMartini had another solid week but did struggle a little with swing and miss early on. For the week, he went 7-22 with a homerun and 3 walks. He did strikeout five times in the first three games before going two games without one,
Carter Johnson
Johnson had a tough week and struck out a ton unfortunately. He went 2-21 with 8 strikeouts. He walked three times, but this did not help his performance. He will need to figure it out soon, as it has been a really tough start through almost 100 at bats.
Carter Mathison
Mathison showed some life at the plate this week, but still struggled with strikeouts. He went 4-16 with his first homerun of the year and a walk. He struck out six times though which is still a big concern.
Casey Cook
Cook is still on the injured list and there is no update. A 60-day designation will likely keep him out for some time.
Charlee Soto
Soto is poised to make his season debut soon. No update since last week, but he has been throwing live and continues to.
Chase Harlan
Harlan had another really solid week and only struck out three times in five games. Overall, he went 6-17 with 5 walks. A really impressive week for the young third baseman.
Chris Cortez
Cortez had another really disappointing start and only pitched an inning plus. He just does not throw strikes. In that inning plus, he walked six batters but somehow limited that and a hit to only 2 earned runs. Unless he suddenly finds the strike zone, he will stay in high A.
Cobb Hightower
Hightower is still out with his injury and there is no update yet on his progress.
Cole Fontenelle
Fontenelle is still on the injured list and there is no update on him as of now.
Cole Carrigg
Carrigg had a down week and his strikeout rate rose a bit, but he should bounce back. He went 3-20 with 6 walks and 5 strikeouts. Disappointing week for him, but this should not last for long.
Cole Mathis
Mathis has a really strong week, reaching base in all six games and hitting in five of them. Strikeouts are a little concerning (8), but overall, he went 7-22 with a homerun, a triple, 2 doubles, and 6 walks. He is still adjusting to the new level, but looks to have found his footing.
Cole Messina
Messina only played in three games this week, but did not really do much. He went 2-8 in limited action. He only struck out once though, so this is a positive. Hopefully he will see more action this week so he can have more chances to contribute.
Colt Emerson
Emerson had another tough week at the plate, going hitless in three of his six games played. Overall, he went 3-22 with 3 walks and 10 strikeouts. He has had a huge swing and miss problem this season and it has continued.
Cooper Pratt
Pratt had a solid week and really cut down on the swing and miss. He struck out twice but they came in the same game. Other than that, he went four games without any strikeouts and recorded a hit in four of five games played. Overall, he went 4-15 with a double and 4 walks. A promising week for the future Brewers shortstop.
Colin Houck
Houck had a better week for the most part, but there is still way too much swing and miss. He recorded a hit in four of five games, but struck out at least once in all of them. For the week, he went 4-18 with 2 doubles and a walk. He still struck out eight times and this continues to be a real problem.
Dillon Head
Head is still on the injured list and there has been no update on his progress as of this time.
Dylan Dreiling
Dreiling had a rough week and there were some strikeout issues. He went 5-25 with 3 walks. The problem is that he struck out seven times. Rough
Echedry Vargas
Vargas only played in two games again and has been very limited over the last few weeks. He did play well though, going 3-7 with a double and a walk. He only struck out twice as well, so really not an issue there.
Eddie Rynders
Rynders’ playing time has been cut as he has been unplayable at the plate. He started three games this week and went 2-12 with 2 doubles and a walk. The problem is that he struck out 8 times in 12 at bats. That is really bad and there is no real positive way to paint his performance.
Eduardo Quintero
Quintero had a really solid week and looks to be more comfortable at the new level. He recorded a hit in all four games played and is currently on a streak of nine games where he reached base safely. For the week, he went 7-14 with 2 doubles and 3 walks. The concern is that he struck out five times which has been a problem all year.
Eduardo Tait
Tait continues to look good at the plate and but did struggle a bit this week. He went 3-23 with a homerun. He only struck out four times though, so this was not a big issue. Hopefully he bounces back next week, because he has shown the ability to excel at the plate.
Ethan Anderson
After a solid week with a concerning number of strikeouts, Anderson looked like himself again. He went 3-18 with 3 walks and only 4 strikeouts. Anderson has a great approach at the plate and it showed this week.
Engelth Urena
Urena had a better week this week but is still struggling overall. He went 4-18 with 5 strikeouts. He did walk twice, but this did not really help his overall numbers. He has not shown any of his power yet and is striking out a lot.
Fenwick Trimble
Trimble had a phenomenal week and is currently riding a eight-game hitting streak. For the week, he went 11-24 with 2 homeruns, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. The most impressive part of his week was that he only struck out twice. He really looks comfortable now and regaining his form from last season.
Franklin Arias
Arias continues to turn heads at the plate and is a real stand out player. He went 6-24 with a double and 2 walks. He struck out five times but this is not a huge part of his game.
George Wolkow
Wolkow had a much better week, but still had a lot of strikeouts. He went 6-24 with 4 walks. He struck out eight times, which is a consistent issue for him.
Hyun-Seok Jang
Jang made two starts this week and had completely different results in both. In his first start, he pitched 4 innings and struck out five while only walking one and allowing only 2 hits and 1 run. In his second start, He got hit hard. He allowed 6 hits and 3 runs in 3.2 innings while striking out only three hitters and allowing a home run. His command has been impressive so far and he has overall looked really good on the mound.
Ivan Luciano
Luciano had a strong bounce back week and reached base in all five games. Overall, he went 3-14 with 7 walks and 5 strikeouts. Strikeouts are still a concern, but he got on base a ton.
Jack Penney
Penney is still out for a long period of time as he in on the 60-day injured list. No recent updates.
Jackson Ferris
Ferris had a much-needed bounce back performance and had his best game of the year. Pitching 5 innings, he limited 5 hits and 2 walks to only 2 earned runs while striking out a season high four batters. A good sign for a struggling pitcher.
Jacob Cozart
Cozart had a tough week at the plate and strikeouts were a consistent issue. He went 1-15 with 5 strikeouts and a double. He did not walk at all, so he really did not get on base all week.
Jaison Chourio
Chourio had another strong week and it ended with a promotion to double A. He went 3-12 with 4 walks and only 2 strikeouts. This was enough to end his time in high A.
Jared Serna
Serna continues to impress with his ability to put the ball in play and not strikeout. For the week, he went 3-15 with a homerun and a double. He also walked twice while only striking out twice. He would like to get on base more, but the lack of strikeouts is a positive.
Jared Sundstrom
Sundstrom had a solid week and really needed this after a tough start to the season. He hit in all three games he played and currently riding a five-game hitting streak. For the week, he went 5-14 with a homerun, double, and only 3 strikeouts. This is a huge step in the right direction.
Jared Thomas
Thomas is still on the injured list, but hopes to return to the field soon. Still recovering from surgery, there is no real update on him yet.
Jay Beshears
Beshears had another solid week, but strikeouts are still a big problem. He went 4-14 with a homerun and a double. He did not walk but did strikeout eight times. This is a concerning rate and really limits his success.
JD Dix
After no strikeouts last week, he struggled a bit with them later in the week. Overall, he went 2-20 with 5 strikeouts and only 1 walk. It has been a real struggle for Dix early and he has had a hard time getting on base.
Jeral Perez
Perez had a brutal week, where he went hitless in five games. Overall, he had 20 at bats where he walked three times and struck out seven times. A really bad week where there really are no positives.
Jeremy Rodriguez
Rodriguez is still on the injured list, but began his rehab assignment on May second. He will likely get some time to ramp up before he is assigned back to full season ball, but this is a positive first step.
Jesus Made
Made had his first rough week, but still flashed. He went 5-22 with a homerun and 2 walks. He did strikeout five times, but they were all early in the week. Three straight games without a strikeout to end the week is a great streak to carry into next week.
Joe Vetrano
Vetrano had a solid week where he hit in three of five games played and reached base safely in four of them. He went 3-15 with a homerun and 5 walks. He struck out only 4 times
Joendry Vargas
While Vargas did not have the best week, he did cut his strikeouts down. He went 5-25 with a walk and only 4 strikeouts. He made a lot more contact, but the results just were not there unfortunately.
John Spikerman
Spikerman had an impressive week, walking a ton. He went 4-12 with 8 walks and only 4 strikeouts. He also stole eight bases and was impressive all around.
Jonathon Long
Long had a solid bounce back week, but the lack of power is a concern. He went 9-27 with 2 doubles and only 4 strikeouts. Good week for most, but the lack of homeruns is unusual for a guy with so much power.
Jonny Farmelo
Farmelo considers to strikeout a ton and it is a real problem. For the week, he went 5-24 with 3 doubles and a walk. He struck out ten times which is a real red flag. He will not succeed striking out this much.
Joshua Kuroda-Grauer
Grauer had another week of consistently putting the ball in play. He went 4-20 with only 1 strikeout and 3 walks. He continues to be one of the hardest batters in the minor leagues to strikeout while playing very good defense at multiple positions.
Josue De Paula
De Paula had a solid week, but did have a few rough games. Overall, he went 6-25 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 4 walks. He struck out only five times and looked really good overall. A callup may be in the cards soon, as he has excelled.
Juan Baez
Baaez had a rough week and struggled with swing and miss. He went hitless in five of six games and struck out six times. Overall, he went 2-19 with 2 walks. Rough week but he should figure it out.
Juan Florez
Flores picked up his performance at the end of last week and carried it into this week. He is now on a six-game hitting streak and went 8-18 with a homerun, 4 doubles and only 4 strikeouts. If he can sustain this, a call up will come.
Kash Mayfield
Mayfield had his first really rough outing where he really struggled with command. He pitched only 3.2 innings and walked five while also hitting a batter. There were positives though, as he struck out four and limited 3 hits and 6 other baserunners to only 2 earned runs. Not the start he hoped for, but it could have been much worse.
Kavares Tears
Tears only played in three games this week and really struggled. He went 1-11 with a double and 2 walks. The big problem is that he struck out seven times. That is borderline unplayable as he is barely making contact.
Khadim Diaw
Diaw had a great week and really shined at the plate. He went 10-17 with 2 doubles, 4 walks, and only 1 strikeout. A really big week for a promising young catcher. He had multiple hits in four of his five starts and really stood out.
Kyle DeBarge
DeBarge continues to struggle at the plate and went hitless in four of five games. Overall, he went 2-21 with e8 strikeouts. The strikeout issue returned after improving last week. This is really hurting him.
Kyle Henley
Henley had another strong week at the plate, but he strikes out a lot still. He went 10-30 with 2 doubles. He struck out 12 times though which is way too much. This is what is holding him back from a promotion.
Leo De Vries
De Vries struggled overall this week, but still showed some flashes. He went 4-18 with a homerun, double, and 4 walks. He also only struck out three times. Despite the lack of hits, he still got on base a lot and put the ball in play frequently.
Lisbel Diaz
Diaz showed flashes this week, but really struggled with strikeouts. After only having seven in the first month (60 at bats) he had eight this week. Overall, he went 5-19 with 3 walks as well. The strikeouts are a concern, because they seem to have come from nowhere.
Luis Almeyda
Almeyda suffered an injury and is currently on the injured list. No update on his progress, but hopefully he is back in the lineup soon.
Luis Baez
Baez had another tough week and went hitless in three of his four games. Overall, he went 1-15 with a double and 6 strikeouts. He did walk twice, but that is the only real positive unfortunately.
Luke Adams
Adams is still on the injured list, but hopes to return soon.
Max Clark
Clark had another rough week and struck out a lot which is really out of character. He went 3-21 with only 2 walks and six strikeouts. He has shown a lot of promise and should not struggle for much longer.
Marvin Alcantara
Alcantara continues to really struggle at the plate and it has been a really tough start for him. He went 4-22 with 7 strikeouts and only 1 walk. He did not get on base much and it is really a concern.
Nate Nankil
There were some good games this week for Nankil, but also some tough ones. He went 4-18 with his first homerun of the season and a double. He also walked twice while only striking out twice. He had two multi-hit games but also went hitless in three starts. The lack of strikeouts is promising and he will hope to keep improving as he gets his feet set after an early injury.
Nick McLain
McLain is still on the 60-day injured list, but there is a positive update. He started his rehab assignment on May 1st with the ACL WhiteSox. Not sure how long he will stay in complete ball for, but the team will likely not rush him as his health is the most important thing here and they will allow him time to ramp up.
Nick Mitchell
It was another rough week for Mitchell, but there were some flashes again. He went 3-16 with a homerun and 2 walks. He did limit his strikeouts by only recording three, but this was still a disappointing week for him.
Nick Morabito
Morabito continues to impress and could see an opportunity with the Mets soon. He went 5-17 with 2 doubles and 5 walks. He struck out 5 times, but this did not really hurt his performance. 5 stolen bases for the week as well only add to his impressive stat line.
PJ Moralando
Morlando still struggled at the plate but did show sme flashes. He reached base in all five games and had a 30hit game as well. Overall, he went 4-18 with a homerun and 5 walks. He only struck out five times which was also an improvement from previous weeks.
Ramon Ramirez
Ramirez had another really strong week and really stood out. He went 8-17 with a homerun, double, and 6 walks. He only struck out three times as well in what was an impressive week of play.
Rikuu Nishida
Nishida had another impressive week at the plate and has really adjusted well to triple A. He went 11-23 with 8 walks and only 2 strikeouts. He also stole three bases and made his presence felt. He has a nine-game hitting streak ongoing and will look to extend that to double digits next week.
Robert Calaz
Calaz had a much better week, but still had a little bit of a strikeout problem. He went 4-17 with a homerun and aa double. He still struck out six times and this is a concern.
Romeo Sanabria
Sanabria did not have a great week, but did show improvement with his approach. While he did strikeout once in all five games, he also walked once in four of five and recorded 3 hits in 19 at bats. Still struggling at the plate, but showed some flashes this week.
Ryan Campos
Campos had another really solid week and has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. For the week, he went 5-17 with a homerun and 2 walks. He only struck out three times as well and this is a great sign.
Ryan Sloan
Sloan continues to struggle and had a rough outing again last time out. He pitched only 3.1 innings and allowed 7 hits, a walk, and hit a batter. This resulted in 5 earned runs. He only struck out three hitters and allowed a homerun as well in a tough outing.
Sean Keys
Keys had a down week for his standards at the plate, but still reached base safely in five of seven games played and hit in four of them. Overall, he went 4-19 with a double and 3 walks. He did strikeout six times though which is a little bit of a disappointment. Defensively, he has still been solid which is a good sign, as it was always his biggest weakness.
Seaver King
King continues to impress and has extended his on base streak to 25 games. For the week, he went 10-26 with a homerun, 3 doubles, and 2 walks. He did strikeout 6 times, but these really did not hurt his performance. A callup should happen soon.
Sebastian Walcott
Walcott is still on the 60-day injured list and there is no guarantee that he will play this year.
Sheng-En Lin
Lin had another solid start despite not going deep into the game. In 4 innings, he allowed only 3 hits and 1 walk. He did hit a batter as well, but also struck out four. Batters are hitting .175 against him and his command improves every start.
Slade Caldwell
Caldwell is still really struggling at the plate and strikeouts are piling up. He went 2-18 with 5 walks and 6 strikeouts. Another tough week with not much to show for.
Spencer Nivens
Nivens made his season debut this week after returning from injury and has been very good. He has hit in all three games and went 3-11 with a double and a walk. He only struck out twice as well which is impressive after an extended absence.
Tai Peete
Peete had a really solid week, but strikeouts are a real problem still. He went 12-28 with a triple and 3 doubles. The concern is that he still struck out 11 times over thw week despite making a ton of contact. This will hold him back.
Thayron Liranzo
Liranzo had a tough week at the plate, but should bounce back. He went 2-16 with a walk and 5 strikeouts. Definitely not the results he was looking for, but he is still adjusting after starting the season injured.
Theo Gillen
Gillen had a rough week, but his numbers are still great overall. He went 2-16 with 7 strikeouts. The positive what that he walked six times, stole six bases, and scored five runs. He can still be an impact player even when he is not hitting.
Travis Honeyman
Honeyman had a solid week at the plate, but still has not hit for power at all. He went 4-16 with a double and 2 walks. He did strikeout four times, but this is not a huge concern just yet.
Ty Southisene
Southisene had a great week and finished it with a promotion to high A. He went 6-20 with 2 doubles, 3 walks, and 1 strikeout. His high A debut was impressive, going 3-6 and proving the promotion to be a smart decision.
Tyson Lewis
Lewis had a much-needed bounce back week. He went 9-22 with a double and a walk. Strikeouts are still a problem (8), but he started to show some fight at the plate and made better contact overall with two multi-hit games and hits in all five games.
Walker Jenkins
Jenkins continues to improve after having a slow start, carrying a six-game hitting streak into next week. He went 8-18 with a homerun, 4 doubles, and 4 walks. He struck out only four times which is another step in the right direction as well. If he can keep this up for more than a week, a call up will come.
Yeremi Cabrera
Cabrera had mixed results this week, but ended it on a high note. He went 6-20 with a homerun, 2 doubles, and 3 walks. He did strikeout six times, which is not usual, but he should correct that quickly.
Yoelin Cespedes
Cespedes continues to rake and had a two-homerun game this week. Overall, he went 9-23 with 3 homeruns, 2 doubles, and a walk. He only struck out 4 times which is a huge improvement as well.
Yoffry Solano
Solano only played in two games this week and showed some positives in limited action. He went 2-6 with a double, walk, and 2 strikeouts. Really small sample size, so it is hard to say it was a good or a bad week for him.
Yohandy Morales
Morales had another incredible week at the plate and he continues to stand out. He went 7-20 with 2 homeruns and 4 walks. He only struck out five times as well and this was another strong week pushing him closer to a promotion.
Yolfran Castillo
Castillo continues to perform at the plate and had another solid week. He hit in five of six games and went 6-22 with 2 doubles, 5 walks, and only5 strikeouts. He also stole three bases and was a huge distraction to pitchers.
Zander Mueth
Mueth is still battling the strike zone and really struggling with control. He pitched 4.2 innings which was a season high and struck out 4 in his last start. The problem is he gave up 4 hits, walked three batters, and also hit two. This resulted in 4 runs and two homeruns. If he cannot improve his control, he my be limited to a bullpen arm at best.
Zyhir Hope
Hope had a very strong week where he reached in base safely in all five games and recorded a hit in four of them. He went 7-25 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 2 walks. He struck out six times which is still a little high, but overall performed really well at the plate.
MLB
Agustin Ramirez
Ramirez did not have a very good week and was unfortunately optioned down to triple A. While it may not have fully been performance based offensively, his defense behind the plate was a real issue. He was still getting on base a lot, but there was no power and the defense was bad. He went 2-11 with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts overall, but the Marlins decided to option him in hopes of finding his power again.
Brice Matthews
Matthews finally had a solid week and received extended playing time. He went 9-27 with 2 homeruns, a double, and 3 walks. He did still strikeout nine times, which is not great, but there was also a lot more solid contact made.
Bryce Eldridge
Eldridge had a big week and got called up to the majors to finish it out. In the minors, he had a two-homerun game and went 9-19 with six walks and 5 strikeouts. In his season debut with the Giants, he went 0-2 with a walk and a strikeout.
Caleb Durbin
Durbin is still not performing and is having a brutal season. He went 2-17 with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. While the lack of strikeouts is good, there is really nothing else of note currently. His play has been bat and his at bats are not productive.
Cam Smith
Smith looks to be breaking out of hit slump, but is still striking out a lot. He went 7-25 with a homerun. He only walked once, while striking out 10 times. This is a big concern as it really limits what he can do.
Carson Benge
Benge had one of his best weeks of the season and the most important part is that he finally looks like he belongs. He went 5-20 with a homerun, double, and 3 walks. He did strikeout five times, but they mostly came early in the week.
Defensively, he has been incredible in the outfield. Against the Angels, he made a game saving catch on a ball with a 5% catch probability. Fully extending and laying out to catch a ball smoked down the right field line. He also made a highlight catch against the Rockies, saving a run in a close win. There was a lowlight in that game as well since he fell trying to track a ball, but it was likely not a catchable ball anyway, so no real harm on that.
Carson Williams
Williams started the week off on fire, but struggled towards the end. Back in triple A still, he went 5-16 with 2 homeruns, 7 walks, and 6 strikeouts. He had all six hits in his first three games, and none in his last two.
Christian Moore
Moore is currently on the injured list and did not play this week.
Colson Montgomery
Montgomery continues to improve his strikeout numbers and has found success. For the week, he went 5-22 with 2 homeruns, and 4 walks. He did strikeout five times, but this is an improvement from last week. Trending in the right direction for a guy who has always struck out a lot.
Dalton Rushing
Rushing had limited action this week, and struggled for the first time all year. In four appearances (3 starts), he went 2-11 with 4 strikeouts and a hit by pitch. Very limited sample size though, so not a true concern yet.
Jac Caglianone
Caglianone had another really strong week and limited his strikeouts after six in his first 7 at bats this week. He went 5-21 with 2 homeruns, 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. The strikeout numbers are inflated due to a rough start, but this improved throughout the week.
Jonah Tong
Tong was sensational in his last start, taking a no hitter into the sixth. He struck out six hitters and only walked 2. He did allow an unearned run and one hit overall through 6, but still looked really good. He just needs to stack good performances, because he has not shown consistency yet this year. A good start, followed up by a rough start has unfortunately been the trend so far through seven starts.
Jose Fernandez
Fernandez had a down week, but is still hitting over .300. For an unknown prospect who was under the radar, he has really stood out and limited his strikeouts. For the week, he went 2-16 with 2 walks, a hit by pitch, and only 3 strikeouts.
Kevin McGonigle
While his on base streak ended, he still had a very solid week at the plate. Going 6-24 with 3 walks and only 4 strikeouts. The rookie of the year favorite keeps stacking great weeks and is a huge part of the Tigers’ lineup.
Kristian Campbell
Campbell’s week was limited to just three games due to illness. He is scheduled to return to the lineup this week though. He had two good games where he went 3-6 with a double and no strikeouts and a walk, followed by an 03-3 with three strikeout performance. Wonder if this rough game was due to him being sick as he had looked really good at the plate before that game.
Kyle Teel
Teel is still dealing with hamstring discomfort and has not returned to the field yet. The hope is maybe next week. Once he starts actually rehabbing, he should be back up quick.
Marcelo Mayer
Mayer had another solid week, but his hit streak did end at nine games. Overall, he has hit in 11 of his last 12 games played and limited his strikeouts. For the week, he went 6-20. While he went nine games without a strikeout, his early swing and miss issue did return later in the week, recording five in his last four games (15 at bats).
Matt Shaw
Shaw had a rough week, but a positive is that his strikeout numbers are still down. He went 3-14 (all hits came in one game) with a homerun, double, and only 3 strikeouts. Mixed results, but he was great on 4/29.
Nick Kurtz
Kurtz had another solid week where he reached base safely in all six games. The concern is that he is still striking out a ton. Overall, he went 6-24 with 10 strikeouts. He did not hit for power, so the strikeouts are a real problem.
Roman Anthony
Anthony had a solid week but unfortunately hurt his hand in his last game. He went 6-22 with only 4 strikeouts and 2 walks before exiting with an injury after a swing.
Sam Antonacci
Antonacci had a great week reaching base in all six games played. He hit in five of six and went 8-21 with 3 walks and only 4 strikeouts. He also had a triple and a double. Antonacci looks to be adjusting well to the level and has started to look like he belongs.
Samuel Basallo
Basallo did not have a terrible week, but it was definitely a little disappointing for him. He went 5-21 with 9 strikeouts. The strikeouts were a real problem this week and are what really limited his success.
Travis Bazzana
Bazzana made his MLB debut and struggled early on. He went hitless (0-9) in his first three games but did walk four times. In his last three games, he went 4-11 with 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. After four early strikeouts, he has none in his last two games. He looks to be adjusting to the level quickly and should shine.
Trey Yesavage
Yesavage looked great in his first two starts but is still working on adding length after missing the early part of the season. He pitched 5.1 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out three batters. In his second start, he pitched 4 innings in his season debut, allowing 5 hits, 3 walks, and only 1 run. He also struck out 6 on 82 pitches and looked good.
